Xi Jinping’s government has decided to increase the proactivity of China in world politics. Despite of the anxieties from domestic opposition about the necessity and timing of this decision, Xi’s governance doesn’t give up this decision in order to secure the China’s national interests. Belt and Road Initiative can also be evaluated as an outcome of the inflexibility of China’s governance on this decision. On the other hand, as China has intervened into politics of other regions than its neighboring regions, the developments in its neighboring regions enforced it to re-shift its focus more from other regions to neighboring ones. Therefore, this paper argues that China’s proactivity is under danger in contemporary global politics.
